David Brent "Dave" Keuning (born March 28, 1976) is an American guitarist. He is best known as the lead guitarist of the rock band The Killers, with whom he has recorded five studio albums.

Personal life
David Brent Keuning was born and raised in Pella, Iowa. He started playing guitar before going to Pella Community College where he played in a jazz band. In 2000 Keuning moved to Las Vegas, Nevada. He found a job at the Banana Republic store at The Venetian Hotel and Casino on the Strip.
Keuning has one son and lives in San Diego, CA.

The Killers (2001-present)
The band started when Keuning advertised in Las Vegas Weekly that read: "Looking for musicians for all original bands Influence: Oasis, Smashing Pumpkins, Bowie, Radiohead." In short, Brandon Flowers answered the ad and the two began to practice and write together later to join Mark Stoermer and Ronnie Vannucci, Jr. The Killers first demo included a future hit of "Mr. Brightside" which Keuning wrote on his previous guitar riff. met Brandon Flowers. The Killers has sold more than 25 million records worldwide including four studio albums. 1 in a row in the UK.
Keuning announced in August 2017 that he will not join the band for a tour supporting their latest album, though he will remain a member of the group.
Other appearances
Keuning has mentioned in the interview that he has some songs he has worked on that he considers releasing a solo or as a side project. He joined the Imagine Dragons with Wayne Sermon (from Imagine Dragons) during the closing of "Nothing Left To Say" on Into The Night Tour.

Play style
Keuning was recorded as a guitarist for playing anthemic solos and soaring in addition to sweet style and often percussive playing often. He is also famous for his "unusual voicings" and "digit fingers," working with guitar in a similar fashion Andy Summers of The Police.
Keuning was featured in Guitarist magazine in May 2009 and Guitar World in February 2009, Guitar Player in January 2008 and February 2010, and Guitar Aficionado in January 2013.
In 2010, Keuning's guitar riff on "Mr. Brightside" was voted at number 9 on Total Guitar "the top 50 riffs of the 21st century so far.
