Imagine TV is a popular Hindi popular entertainment channel, owned by the New Delhi-based Turner Broadcasting System.

History
Launch
This channel was founded by NDTV Group under the supervision of former CEO of STAR India, Sameer Nair. The channel was launched in India on January 21, 2008 as NDTV Imagine. Imagine a TV bound with Karan Johar, creative consultant and brand ambassador Imagine TV. The channel was originally launched by NDTV in partnership with NBCUniversal but NBCUniversal abandoned the partnership in October 2009.
In December 2009, NyooTV's online and mobile video services approved a deal with NDTV Imagine to distribute ongoing and past TV shows on the platform.
Sales to Turner
On December 8, 2009, it was announced that Turner Asia Pacific Ventures (a wholly owned subsidiary of Turner Broadcasting System) has acquired a 92% stake in NDTV Imagine Ltd. NDTV's 76 percent stake in NDTV Imagine going to Turner for $ 67 million, and Time Warner's company will get $ 50 million in fresh equity to get 92% control. NDTV Imagine Ltd. run NDTV Imagine, NDTV Lumiere and NDTV television channel Imagine Showbiz and ansfer film production shares, amounting to 85.68% of NDTV Imagine Ltd, by NDTV Networks Plc to Turner Asia Pacific Ventures. Three channels will be under Turner General Entertainment Networks, the parent company that will invest fresh capital to finance network growth. The 'NDTV' brand was dropped and the channel was re-labeled Imagine TV, Lumiere Movies and Imagine Showbiz. Imagine Showbiz being sold in January 2011 to the Reliance Broadcast Network.
Shutdown
On April 12, 2012, it was announced that Imagine TV would be closed, as the channel struggled to rank amidst competition from a competing Hindi entertainment channel, where it was even beaten by the newly launched Life OK. The channel had the same fate as his brother Real's. Although all of its business operations will be closed soon, the channel will continue to restart flights from April 13, until the official obligations expire and can stop the transmission entirely.
Imagine TV closed May 11, 2012 at midnight in India. On May 12, 2012, the channel has been successfully removed from all carriers. Imagine that the TV website is also closed and all episodes and promos are removed from their YouTube channels.
In the Middle East Imagine closing on May 30, 2012, when the channel is replaced by Imagine Movies. The British and Irish feed of Imagine Dil Se closed on July 6, 2012. The Sky EPG channel slot was purchased by Viacom 18 to launch Rishtey, a free sister channel for Color.

International availability
In the UK and Ireland, Imagine TV is broadcast on the Sky platform, where it is free-to-air. Due to copyright issues, the channel was unable to use Imagine TV in the area, therefore renamed Imagine Dil Se, from NDTV Imagine, on November 1, 2010. The feed proved successful, beating Star Plus in the UK Ranking to become a channel Asia's most watched. Some shows like Bandini and Jyoti are very popular in the region.
From February 4, 2009 Imagine being available in the US on the Dish Network platform. Imagine also available free at Nilesat in the Middle East. In November 2009, NDTV Imagine was launched in Canada in partnership with Canadian broadcaster Ethnic Channels Group and available on Bell TV. The channel was renamed Imagine Dil Se in early 2011. The channel also aired in parts of Asia Pacific namely Fiji, Australia, Japan, Malaysia, apart from Nepal and Bangladesh.
