Meera - Krishna Se Laagi Aisi Lagan Ek Rajkuvri Bani Jogan is a series of Indian history television dramas Produced by Sagar Pictures and written by Vipul Mehta. It is based on the life of Meera Bai, a mythologist and 15th century Hindu poet whose lyrical devotional songs to the god Krishna are widely popular in northern India. The series, which aired on NDTV Imagine from July 27, 2009 through January 29, 2010, was produced by Sagar Pictures.

Meera, the great poet saint was born as a princess in Khudki in Rajasthan in the early 16th century. His father was Ratan Singh - the youngest son of Rao Dooda, the Merta ruler at that time in a small country in Marwar. Since its birth, it is predicted by Raidasji (a saint) that Meera is meant for bigger things and that his family will be known for decades because of his achievements.
When Meera was about 8-9 years old she wanted a Gudda (doll) that she could marry. Saint Raidas-ji gave Sri Krishna's idol, and Meera soon fell in love with God. Meera really believes that God is her husband.
Soon after, his marriage was fixed with Bhoj Raj, son of Rana Sangha of Chittor. But Meera remained, in thought, heart and soul, married to God and never received a prince as her husband. After marriage, his life is constantly beset by chaos, because very few can understand his devotion and his faith in Lord Krishna. He spoke softly, politely, talented, sweet and sang in a sweet voice. He is one of the main exponents of Prema Bhakti (Divine Love) and an inspired poet.
Soon Meera starts taking care of Bhoj Raj but is rigid to accept her as her husband; he died fighting in war. After that soon Rana Sangha also died while fighting. So the Vikramaditya was made the new Rana (king). She desperately begins to have feelings for Meera, who is somehow saved every time by her mother-in-law. He immediately left Chittod, with a heavy heart with Lalita. She gave him Krishna's idol for her mother-in-law, saying that the idol had her life since childhood. But, because of his destiny he returns to Merta only to find out that his brother Jaimall has died. After spending several years there he went on a pilgrimage to Dwarka and Vrindavan. He disappears in God's idol, to know that he has reached Moksha and has reached his master, after years of service. Lalita also surrendered her life by jumping into the sea, for "wherever Meera is, there is Lalita".
Through this performance, an attempt to portray the story of Meera is as an ordinary Rajput princess whose love and ultimate devotion to God leads him to question the norms set by patriarchal society. This is a relevant story even today and when Meera embodies the true love of a woman and her ultimate sacrifice to remain faithful to that love even in the face of social stigma and opposition. Meera is closest to her mother, and her mother who understands Meera is the best. He died early when his daughter was about 10 years old.

He is the father of Meera and Rao Dooda's youngest son. Ratan Singh is a great fighter like his father. A very loving man, his world revolves around his wife and daughter. He was left devastated when his wife Veer Kunwari died when Meera was about 10-11 years old. He was involved in a fierce battle against Mughal. Meera is his only child and Ratan Singh will do anything for him.
- Rao Doodaji
He is King Merta - he is a brave and strong king with an impressive personality. Rao Dooda is a true warrior who spent most of his life fighting especially against the Mughal. He really likes Meera and will always spoil him. He, too, is a Krishn Bhakt and is greatly respected even by saints and great teachers who often visit his palace.
