"Without You" is a romantic song written by American songwriter and music producer, Lamont Dozier, and recorded in 1987 as a duet by an R & B Peabo Bryson and Regina Belle. The song is a love theme from the comedy film Leonard Part 6, released in the same year, and also recorded for Peabo Bryson's Positive album, released in 1988, the only album which contains the original version of "Without You". The single was released in November 1987, and peaked at # 8 in Adult Contemporary Tracks, # 14 in R & amp; B chart, # 85 in UK Singles, and # 89 on the Billboard Hot 100, between 1987/1988.

"Without You" was the first duet recorded by Bryson and Belle, who recorded four songs together, and also the first successful duet of the two. Another successful duo came in 1992 with "A Whole New World", the animated feature film theme of Aladdin .

In addition to the original English version by Bryson and Belle, "Without You" also received two adaptations in various languages. The first was Portuguese and the second was Spanish, respectively in 1989 and 1990. Both adaptations received the title "Amor Dividido", and were recorded by the same Brazilian singer. Adaptation in Portuguese was successful in Brazil in 1989.

Description

"Without You" authored by Lamont Dozier as the love theme at Leonard Part 6 , released in the United States on December 18, 1987, and the film starred Bill Cosby in the lead role. In the same year, Regina Belle released her first album, All by Myself , but "Without You" was not included in the album. In 2012, All by Myself is recorded on the CD and "Without You" is inserted at the end of the album as a bonus track, however, it is not the original 1987 version, but the "singular mix" of the song. "Without You" is not included in other Belle albums, or in compilations. Unlike him, Bryson included a song on his album Positive , released in 1988, the only album containing the original version of "Without You", which is also included in the compilation Anthology i>, released in 2001, and Bedroom Classics Vol. 2 - Peabo Bryson , released in 2004. On each album the song is present, it's entitled "Without You (Love Theme from Leonard Part 6)", but the title is simply "Without You". This is the first of four duets recorded by Peabo Bryson and Regina Belle, who recorded together "Without You" (in 1987), "I Can not Imagine" (in 1991), "A Whole New World" (on 1992) and "Total Praise" (in 2009).
