Yara Sayeh Shahidi ( Persian pronunciation: Ã, [j ?: ??: s ?: je ? ÃÆ' Â|hi: in:] born February 10, 2000) is an American actress and model who attended AGCM. He is best known for starring as Zoey Johnson on the sitcom Black-ish (2014-present) and the Grown-ish spin-off series (2018-present).

Shahidi was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to a mother, Keri Salter Shahidi, African-American and Choctaw, and Iranian-American father Afshin Shahidi, a photographer. The family moved to California for the work of Afshin when Yara was 4. She is the sister of child actor and model of Sayeed Shahidi, and they have a younger brother, Ehsan. Rapper Nas is their cousin. Keri Shahidi says the name Yara is translated to "someone who is capable of doing something, or someone very strong and smart to do something difficult" in Persian.

He started his career when he was 6 years old, appearing on television and print ads for companies like McDonald's, Ralph Lauren, Target, GapKids, Disney, Guess Kids, and The Children's Place. She often works with her mother and younger brother in various print and broadcasting campaigns.
Shahidi made her cinematic debut in 2009, starring Eddie Murphy at Paragliding Pictures' Imagine That, where she received a Young Artist Award nomination for best performance in the feature film category. In 2012, he plays Chloe Johnson, the daughter of President William Johnson, in the First Family TV series .
In September 2014, Shahidi starred in the mainstream comedy ABC Black-ish as 14-year-old Zoey Johnson. In December 2014 he won the NAACP Image Award in the category 'Best Supporting Actress in Comedy'.
