Music video
On December 12, 2014, Imagine Dragons released the official music video for "I Bet My Life". The video was directed by Jodeb and featured actors Dane DeHaan and Alex Neustaedter. The recording of the video is shown in an advertisement by the Jeep car manufacturer at the American Music Awards, before the release of the video.
Synopsis
The beginning and end of the video takes place at the Salt River in Arizona. A car is shown driving to the river. The players are members of the Imagine Dragons, and their family and friends. Somewhere else on the river, a boy with a shirt (DeHaan) and a boy in overalls (Neustaedter) fought in a water bed. While walking away, Neustaedter finally pushed DeHaan into the river, and it was implied that DeHaan swam away, while the first stared in shock. DeHaan is drawn towards the dam, where she is sucked. He landed in a house, and looked out the window and found everything underwater. She found the bed and went to bed. The next morning, DeHaan finds himself in a sailboat, and takes control of it. He tried unsuccessfully to avoid the waterfall, but ended up flying over the ground in the boat as he went over the waterfall. Turning to the boat, he decides to turn it over. He fell into the city, and the crowd was shown carrying him. They threw and twisted him, until he realized it was a vision and he collapsed at the dam. He was pulled back to the surface by Neustaedter, and persisted. The final image of the video magnifies from the point where DeHaan is taken, and the video ends.
