Plot
In the age of medieval fantasies inhabited by fantastic creatures, the Green Witch Carolinus, who led nature, realized that magic faded from the world when he discovered that he could not make the waterwheel disappear by his spell, since mankind encompassed logic and science instead.. Calling on his three magic brothers, he proposed combining their power to create the last "hidden magic world" of the whole world. The Blue Wizard Solarius, who led the sky and sea, and Yellow Wizard Lo Tae Zhao, whose light and airy realm, approved the proposal. However, Red Wizard Ommadon, the ruler of black magic and evil forces, instead decided to infect mankind with fear and greed, causing humans to use their knowledge to destroy themselves.
During a magician's encounter at the temple of all ages, the brothers approved the proposal except Ommadon. Because by the law of conservation immortality forbids them to fight among themselves, Carolinus proposes sending a group of heroes in an attempt to steal Ommadon's crown, which is the source of her power. The party included Sir Orin's knight Neville Smythe and companion of the young dragon Carolinus, Gorbash. Solarius gave them an enchanted shield that could deflect dark magic, and Lo Tae Zhao contributed the magic flute that laid the dragon to sleep.
In need of a leader, Carolinus consults with the magical power of Antiquity, which leads him to look 1,000 years into the future to find a scientist descended from a legendary hero. At the end of the 20th century Boston, Carolinus put Peter Dickinson, a former scientist who became a dragon-obsessed game designer. Carolinus brings Peter back through time and magnifies it in search. Peter became captivated from Caroline's ward, Princess Milisande. Ommadon sends his dog Bryagh to capture Peter, and an accident with one of Carolinus's spells while rescuing him causes Peter to join Gorbash, the thought of Peter taking over the dragon's body.
Not knowing anything about being a dragon, Peter was guided by the companion of the old dragon Carolinus, Smrgol. The magic and science dichotomy is explored when Smrgol teaches Peter how the dragon flies and breathes fire, the ability that Peter can explain with scientific principles. As the search progresses, the heroes survive the attack by the ugly Sandmirks and join the talking wolves Aragh, the archer Danielle, and the Giles Fairy. As the group approached Ommadon's world, Danielle and Sir Orrin were captured by an ogre sent by Ommadon.
Peter was almost killed trying to save both, but was rescued by Smrgol, who defeated the giant at the expense of his own life. In the Red Witch's realm, the party faces the Worm of Sligoff, which Peter destroys by triggering the sulfuric acid it releases. Ommadon cast a spell to induce despair in the group, which Peter repels using Solarius's shield. Ommadon then sends many dragons to kill the heroes, but Giles plays the enchanted flute of Lo Tae Zhao, lulling them and Peter to sleep. Bryagh stayed awake and killed Giles, Aragh, and Danielle. Sir Orrin killed Bryagh, but died of his wounds.
When Ommadon appeared on the battlefield, Peter managed to separate himself from Gorbash by remembering the principle of incompetence, (two things can not occupy the same space). He was able to defeat Ommadon by fighting the wizard's magic declaration with an explanation of science and logic, and denying the existence of magic. It destroys Ommadon, restores another hero to life, and allows the wizarding world to form. Peter, having rejected all magic, was separated forever from this world, but not before raising Milisande with a kiss and abandoning his Ommadon crown. After falling in love with Peter, Milisande begs for Carolinus to allow her to join him. Back in Boston in the 20th century, Peter sold the magic flute and shield to the pawnshop when Milisande entered the shop carrying the crown, and both hugs.

Reception
Filmsy.com said of the movie, "An animated fantasy movie intended for family viewing is not made like this anymore... The sound acting in this movie is very good, to say the least... Although the animation may seem a bit 'dated', keep it beautiful with standard 1982 ". "The dialogue is very intelligent and may confuse some children, but it's good to see animated movies that will stimulate little adult minds... The sound of players is great and I can not find any fault with them." , says blogcritic.org. The Unknown Movies says "There may not be a strong constant thread on The Flight of Dragons, but all the moments of warmth, imagination, and interest combine to create magic."
The other reviews are less positive: "I'm sure fans of The Flight of Dragons, sick of looking at ugly downloads or obsolete VHS copies, will be satisfied with what's here, but if you do not grow up with this one, better left alone. "
