Activity

In addition to musical performances, The Firefly Music Festival offers other activities. An arcade tent is set up, which houses an arcade and video game. Participants can design their own Toms Shoes and have design artists painted. With the purchase of a pair of special shoes, a pair of additional Toms are sent to a needy child, through Toms One For One Movement program. Hammock Hangout is a shaded area where you can sit or lie in a hammock. The Pathway is a wooded pathway that connects the two "sections" of the festival. Each year, The Pathway has a theme, and at the 2017 festival, fans can choose what happens.

The Thicket is another attraction at Firefly, where participants can participate in a silent rave. For everyone with headphones, however; The Belukar music is filled, with DJ playing music that can only be heard through headphones. The Coffee House offers several cafe-style vendors, and live music throughout the day.

In its first year, Firefly featured hot air balloon rides over The Woodlands. The rides are no longer offered for Festival goers, but the hot air balloon remains as a symbol of the Firefly icon.

Firefly partnered with Delaware's Dogfish Head Brewery to have The Brewery, an on-site beer bar. The bar serves a Firefly Ale, a Dogfish Head Pale Ale microbrew specially made for the festival.

Firefly also offers various charging stations, where participants can charge electronic devices.

Beginning in February 2015, there are also unofficial weekend fans gathered at Dewey Beach, Delaware. Called Winterfly, the show is not associated with Red Frog Events, but features live music, and group activities such as a private tour of Dogfishhead Brewery and a charity auction that benefits local music programs.

This festival juxtaposes each donation until the festival is completely carbon neutral. In 2012, the program offset more than 1.5 million pounds of carbon dioxide.
