Garrett Charles Nash (born June 16, 1993) is better known by his stage name Gnash (is styled as gnash ), is an American singer, songwriter, rapper, DJ, and record producer. He released an extended debut play (EP), u , in March 2015 on SoundCloud and followed up with my EP in December 2015. His third EP, titled , was released in March 2016 and included the single, "i hate u, i love u", featuring Olivia O'Brien, who reached number 10 on Billboard Hot 100 and reached number one in Australia.

Garrett Charles Nash was born June 16, 1993, in Los Angeles, California to his father, a musician and his mother, a director and producer. Nash is of British and Norwegian descent.

Before writing his own music, Nash began performing DJs when he was 13 years old until he started producing cover songs after college.

Careers

In 2015, Nash began releasing a series of EPs about the previous breakup, starting with u on March 15, 2015 and me on December 15, 2015. Nash recorded his first two EP albums in his garage and made the song "I Hate U, I Love U" in his garage as well, which eventually became his breakthrough song, peaked at number ten on Billboard Hot 100. The three Nash EP, us , reached number 46 on Billboard 200.

In October 2016, Nash appeared on the "Lights Down Low" MAX number twenty on Billboard Hot 100, becoming his second entry on the chart, with "home", released two weeks later, being the main entry second.

Gnash has called Death Cab for Cutie, The Postal Service, and Jack Johnson as a musical influence.
