Shake ( Goyang-si ; Korean pronunciation: Ãƒ, [ko. ja?] ) is a city in Gyeonggi Province in the north of South Korea. It is part of the Seoul Capital Territory, making Goyang one of Seoul's satellite cities. It is one of the largest cities in the Capital Territory of Seoul, with a population of over 1 million. The city is the Ilsan site, the planned city around Ilsandong-gu and the Ilsanseo-gu district of Goyang. It also includes Deogyang-gu which is closer to Seoul.

Some higher education institutions are located in Goyang. These include Agricultural Cooperative College, Korea Aerospace University, and Transnational Law and Business University.

In sports, this city is home to Ice Hockey team Asia High1. Challenger League soccer teams, Goyang Citizen FC and Korean Basketball League team, Goyang Orion Orions are also based in the city.

Haengjusanseong Rising Sun Festival

On New Year's Day each year, a beautiful festival is thrown to Haengju Sanseong to celebrate New Year's Day.

The Great Battle of Haengju Festival

The event was held to commemorate a landmark victory in Korean history (March 14) in Haengju Sanseong. Primary schoolchildren and their parents from the ward can watch the memorial service for the nation's patriotic martyrs and learn about the history of Haengju Sanseong.
