Leland Ryken , is an emeritus professor of English at Wheaton College in Wheaton, Illinois. He has contributed a number of works to study classical literature from a Christian perspective, including editing a comprehensive volume on Christian writings on the literature of The Christian Imagination . He is the literary author for the English Bible Version, published by Crossway Bibles in 2001. He is the author of How to Read the Bible as Literature and Words of Joy: An Introduction to the Bible , as well as the co-editor of the Ryken Bible Handbook (with his son Philip Ryken). She is a contributor to literary content at the ESV Study Bible , released in 2008.
