Night Visions is the studio's debut album by American rock band, Imagine Dragons. The album was released on September 4, 2012, via KIDinaKORNER and Interscope Records. The extended song was released on February 12, 2013, adding three more songs and a UK release of this album on March 26, 2013 . Recorded between 2010 and 2012, the album was primarily produced by the band itself, as well as British hip-hop producer Alex da Kid and Brandon Darner from the American indie band The Envy Corps. It's controlled by Joe LaPorta. According to frontman Dan Reynolds, the album took three years to complete, with six of the previously released album tracks on several EPs. In music, Night Visions shows the influence of folk, hip hop and pop.
The album received mixed public reviews from music critics after it was released. But it debuted at number two on Billboard 200 in the United States, selling over 83,000 copies in its first week where it has since been certified Platinum double. It also peaked at the top of the album charts of Billboard Alternative Albums and Album Batu, as well as in the top ten albums in Australia, Austria, Canada, Germany, Ireland, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom. In 2008, Imagine Dragon was composed of vocalist Dan Reynolds, lead guitarist Wayne Sermon, bassist Ben McKee, drummer Andrew Tolman, and keyboardist Brittany Tolman. Each member moved to Las Vegas, Nevada to form the Imagine Dragons, a rock band. After playing in many local Battle of Bands competitions, the band recorded and released three extended dramas: 2009 Imagine Dragons , 2010 Hell and Silence and 2011 After Tolmans left the band in July 2011 to be replaced with drummer Daniel Platzman in August 2011, the band was picked up by Universal Records and signed to Interscope in November 2011.
In 2011, the band entered the studio to write and record their major label debut, Advanced Silence , and additional material for their debut studio album. Continued Silence was released on February 14, 2012 and was greeted with critical acclaim, reaching number 40 on US Billboard 200 also in their chart debut. The EP served as a prelude to the band's debut studio album, with "It's Time", a song featured on Advanced Silence and released as a solo promotion of the EP, serving as the lead single from the album, reaching number 15 in the US Billboard Hot 100 by the end of 2012.

It has since reached number 3 on the US Billboard Hot 100, as well as number 1 on Alternative Songs charts, Hot Rock Songs chart, and Swedish charts.
"Hear Me" was released as a single from Night Visions on November 24, 2012. The following day, the song was released as a 4-track EP, featuring two previous singles, "Radioactive" and "Amsterdam", as well as "The River ", which is a bonus song in the Best Buy Night iions edition. "Hear Me", "Radioactive", "On Top of the World", and "It's Time" are all Top 40 UK singles.

Tour
Prior to the release of Night Visions, Imagine Dragons made appearances on American radio and television to promote their additional games, Advanced Silence and debut It It Time's single. The band performed "It's Time" on July 16, 2012 airing the NBC talk show at The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.
The band embarked on a tour to promote Night Visions . The 35-date "Fall Tour 2026", featuring American Alt Rock Awolnation band as an opening act, saw the band take a trip across the United States in Fall 2012 to promote the album's early release in North America. During the tour, the band appeared on 4th of September 2012 aired ABC's evening talk show Jimmy Kimmel Live! . They also made a historical appearance on October 29, 2012 airing NBC late at night talk show Late Night with Jimmy Fallon doing "It's Time" for an empty audience during the Hurricane Sandy section through New York/New York metropolitan area during the end that week.
In 2013, the world tour, entitled Night Visions Tour, was held to promote the release of Night Visions worldwide. Starting in February 2013, the 145 date tour saw the band perform in North America and Europe. By opening up actions like SeÃÆ' Â ± ora Lanza. During the tour, the band made their first national television appearance, performing "Radioactive" on February 22, 2013 airing CBS's weekend talk show Late Show with David Letterman . The band performed in front of the camera during their appearance at the 2013 Isle of Wight Festival for the Vevo series Summer Six . Critical reception
Night Visions received mixed criticism from music critics. Brian Mansfield from USA Today gave Night Visions a favorable review, writing: "For all the mastery of group music, it is the joy of producer Alex da Kid that makes each of the standing tracks outside." Mansfield praised individual elements such as "It's Time 'mandolin hook, the carefree whistle of' On Top of the World ', [and] burbling guitar in' Demons. '" And says that "the creative touch may seem like a small detail, but it is the imagination that gives this Dragon's teeth. The album debuted at number two on Billboard 200 in the United States, selling over 83,000 copies in its first week. It also peaked at the top of the Billboard Album Alternative Album and Album Stone charts. It has appeared in the top ten albums on Billboard 200 in 2012, 2013 and 2014 (as well as topping Alternative Albums charts in each year) and has not dropped from charts once per February 25, 2015. This album debuting at number two in the United Kingdom, narrowly losing the top slot for Justin Timberlake's 20/20 Experience.
This album is the fourth best-selling album in the US in 2013 with more than 1.4 million copies sold for this year. In February 2015, it has sold a total of 2.5 million copies in the US and acquired Platinum double status. It was also the third best-selling album in Canada with 179,000 copies sold.
To date, three singles from albums mapped on Top 20, and five have charted in the UK Top 40. In the US, "It's Time" has sold over 2 million copies in America. Country, "Radioactive" has sold over 10 million and "Demons" has sold over 5 million. Both "Radioactive" and "Demons" spent over 60 weeks on Billboard Hot 100, making Imagine Dragons the first artist to achieve such a feat.
