He was promoted to the regular series starting with Season 2 and remains a regular up to Season 8. He made his final appearance on Season 9's premiere, "Our First Day of School", as a guest star.

Biografi karakter fiktif

In the series test episode, the protagonist J.D. seeing Janitor fix the sliding door sliding, and indicating someone might have put a dime on the door. The cleaning officer immediately accused J.D of sabotaging the door, and vowed revenge. For the rest of the series, Supervisors make it his personal mission to torture J.D. with humiliation, mind games and practical jokes. At the end of season eight, J.D. claimed to have accidentally put a penny on the door; The janitor answered she saw J.D. did it and started torturing her because she failed to "test the characters" by remaining silent about it. Some of Janitor's practical jokes have been on the severe side, like destroying a JD bike. (twice), trapping him in a water tower, forcing him in the middle of nowhere, and tricking him into robbing the couple's home.

Neil Flynn mengatakan:

"I think maybe he does not hate JD, maybe JD is close to a friend like him.For all we know, he just has bad social skills, I think that the Superintendent keeps misreading JD's motives and thinks he's a young punk."

It is suggested in the episode "His Story III" that he is in some way responsible for a doctor named Jill having a child.

During the first six seasons, he really likes Dr. Elliot Reid, but in the seventh season he meets his future wife Lady, and they get married the following season.

In the first episode of season 9, the flashback is seen from Janitor's last appearance the day after JD left the Heart. Supervisors believe that J.D is just hiding, as a practical joke, and will reappear. When Turk assures him that J.D has left for good, the Hygiene Officer hands over his mop to Turk and leaves, never to be seen again.

Personality

Concrete information about Mr. Janitor's personal history is very rare and confused by his penchant for giving outrageous (and often contradictory) reports about his past. Many of the stories he told JD were clearly absurd, some of them bordering on surreal or fantastic.

She has claimed that her parents and her siblings, have made several conflicting accounts for being married and have children, claiming that, at college, she is approaching the world record in a 100m run race, and has given explanations for learning sign language so convoluted that he asked to be read back to him when JD asked if there was a right section. His childhood and family life were both mysterious. The occasional flashback sequence implies that his parents are cautious and somewhat rude. One flashback implies the loss of stuffed animals in her bedroom "mess" causing her to take a career as a janitor. He also claimed that his great-grandfather was General Ambrosius Burnside (mispronouncing "Burnsides").

The janitor spoke Spanish, Korean, German, Italian and American. When hospital support staff wanted dental treatment, he became their spokesperson.

Sometimes the Officer indicated he was doing a bit of an actual job. He told JD that he only spent one and a half hours a day doing his work at work. However, he maintains his hygiene responsibilities at the hospital each time JD. asked him about it, and he was very proud of the cleanliness of the hospital floor.

Although he spent most of the series harassing J.D., on occasion Supervisors will torture other characters such as Christopher Turk. This is usually in response to mistakes that are felt, like other characters that create chaos in the hospital or disrespect him.

Several episodes show Janitor pretending to be a doctor ("Dr. JÃÆ'¡n? Tor") and he also greatly enjoyed one occasion when he was asked to help during a medical emergency. On one occasion, he used a set of defibrillator pedals that were damaged to pretend to revive the patient (in fact, a pair of pillows and mop). He also pretends to be the head of medicine when the real head, Bob Kelso, is away.

The janitor showed a softer side on several occasions. He keeps a crush on schoolchildren on Elliot Reid, whom he usually calls "Blonde Doctor". He also showed genuine compassion for hospital patients; in one episode he spends the day talking to the patient with Locked syndrome just to keep him company. On the other hand, he joins the others in saying a heartfelt good-bye to Nurse Laverne Roberts, who died of suffering injuries in a car accident. Later, when the hospital regretted Laverne's neglect in a bar, the Superintendent bought them a drink and raised his glass to salute. He later revealed that he and Kelso both slept with Laverne.

Flynn has a small role in The Fugitive . The show writers take advantage of this, placing Janitor (in his fictional role) as a real actor in the movie. J.D. pay attention to this when he watches movies. When JD confronts the Watchdog, he (finally) admits that it was really him-after JD explained that he wanted her to be a Hygiene Officer because it would show him to be more of a bitter but a man who once had hopes and dreams even if they did not work - but scolded her for not telling anyone.

The janitor's dad is described to have treated him like a training instructor who will treat a new employee. (His father was played by actor R. Lee Ermey, who famously played a training instructor at Full Metal Jacket.) However, the Hygiene Officer then told J.D. that his father died when he was young. When JD. given his father's meeting, the Hygiene Officer mysteriously responds that "You meet a man."

At the beginning of the eighth season, Maddox sacked Janitor for doing a joke at J.D. which could lead to serious injury. At the end of the episode, he is replaced. He was rehired because of a clerical error.

Janitor is the self-appointed "Brain Trust" leader, an unofficial club in the hospital of staff members of the rotating Sacred Heart like Ted Buckland hospital lawyer, Todd surgeon "The Todd" Quinlan, Dr. Doug Murphy (whom the janitor called "Guy Nerves"), and Lloyd Slawski, the delivery man. The Trust Brains initially had three other members, but Mr. Supervisor became disgusted with them at lunch, and joined the table behind him where new members sat.

Name

The mystery of the Supervisor's name is a joke throughout the series. In some episodes, he calls himself "Hygiene Officer" (even in his own mind), and in many episodes he calls himself "Doctor JÃÆ'¡n? Tor".

In "My Hero", Janitor punishes J.D. for not knowing his name while Janitor knows many personal details about J.D.'s life. (although later shown to Janitor having broken into the JD locker and reading her journal). When JD. protesting that he actually knew Janitor's real name, Janitor asked him to say it out loud and quickly clapped his hand on his name badge so that J.D. can not read it.

In "My Manhood", the Hygiene Officer told Dr. Cox, "I have been called many terrible names in my life: backstabber, zebra poacher, Josh..." (In an interview before Bill Lawrence stated that the Name of Supervisor is Josh, stands for (J) anitor (o) f (S ) acred (H) eart but then says this is a joke.)

At the beginning of the eighth season, when the Head of New Medicine Sacred Heart, Dr. Maddox (played by Courteney Cox Arquette), asked what Janitor's name was, she chuckled and referred to the fact that she was new, referring to the fact that she was aware of the fact even the longest staff member did not know her name. He checked his name tag just to find the word "The Janitor."

Bill Lawrence gestured Janitor's name to a speech at The College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia on January 29, 2009. She said that the only clue she gave was that Janitor's name was the same as the janitor at Clone High (Glenn, voiced by Neil Flynn).

In Season 8 Janasan's finale tells J.D that his name is Glenn Matthews ; "My Finale" is the last series, in which Janitor's real name will be revealed. When J.D. asked why the Hygiene Officer revealed his name now, the Supervisor indicated that J.D had never asked beforehand what his name was, and proved that JD had forgotten him. Yet only seconds later, others passed by and called the Supervisor by another name, "Tommy," to which he responded.

In a Twitter post on April 5, 2011, Bill Lawrence asserted that the Superintendent told the truth when he revealed his name as Glenn Matthews.

Imagination JD.

As revealed in the DVD commentary on several episodes, the Supervisory character was originally used as a figment of JD's imagination. if the show has been canceled during the first season or the second half of the second. It will be revealed to the audience at the end.

From the start of Season 2, Flynn joined the rest of the major players who appeared on the opening credit opening ceremony, but the credits were changed back due to objections by NBC, who wanted a longer episode instead. However, he is still recognized as a major player by the manufacturer in the second season. Since the start of the second season, Janitor has met with most of the other regular characters. He even has an entire episode ("His Story III") mostly aimed at him. Along with this, in episode 1 of the "My Bad" season, Elliott throws coffee to the floor and when Janitor looks up in anger, he appears to be engaged with him and cynically says "sorry".

Production notes

Flynn is an improvised comedian and, thus, makes many lines. While it is often stated that Flynn ad-libs all the lines, in some parts of the DVD comments of Season One and special features, both Flynn and Bill Lawrence series makers say that this is generally a blend of ad-libbed lines and original scripts, with Flynn usually builds the original line. Lawrence also said that the rest of the cast follows Flynn's lead and that he (Lawrence) occasionally enters the practice room without knowing what scenes occur due to a lack of resemblance to the original manuscript. Alter alter janitor, Dr. Jorgeor, is the happy consequence of such a moment of inspiration. Sam Lloyd once commented on Flynn's improvisation: "I opened my script once and it says 'Janitor: Anything Neil says,' and I just started laughing."

Flynn initially auditioned for Dr. Cox (who eventually went to John C. McGinley). However, Lawrence asks Flynn if he will consider another part: a mysterious custodian that makes torturing J.D. his life's work.

Janitor's role was originally designed as a one-time joke in series pilot episodes, 'Lawrence admitted: "When we watched the pilot, we knew right away that we had to take care of this guy."

In the flashback scene of Janitor's childhood, she is played by Brandon Waters.
